Unknown truth to touch business hearts

Unknown truth to touch business hearts

The KidsAid Foundation are a Northampton based charity that provides therapy support to children suffering from trauma, these traumas include:

  • Abuse
  • Neglect
  • Anxiety, depression and self-harm
  • Family breakdown
  • Attachment difficulties
  • Illness
  • Bullying
  • Children going into care

There is a hidden crisis in Northamptonshire that is very real and it involves our children. With drastic cuts to services, it is only when a child is about to enter care proceedings that funding becomes available to children facing a mental health crisis. Up until this point, there is no funding allocated towards a child’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. CAMHS, which is funded by the NHS and is not part of  social services has a minimum waiting time of three months for initial therapy.  With families already at crisis point, waiting is not an option.

As a local charity, any support from the local business community helps us to continue providing the therapy services for children.  We are looking for companies in Northamptonshire to sponsor a child for £1,260. This sounds a lot, but it is life changing. By life changing, we mean that it stops future issues such as addiction, relationship breakdown or poor mental health. These in turn can lead to other issues such as unemployment, homelessness or crime.

We want children that are in crisis to have a better education and life opportunities and are asking Northamptonshire businesses to get behind us because these children are our county’s future.  Businesses can support us through a Christmas event, as part of corporate social responsibility, as your charity of the year or through payroll giving,  Employees can donate to KidsAid directly from their salary via Give As You Earn. These payments are taken before tax is deducted from income, making it tax effective for employers.

If there was ever a time to support a local children’s charity, it is now. Could KidsAid be your charity of the year 2021?

For more information about the amazing work that KidsAid does visit the website www.kidsaid.org.uk or call the office on 07471 762737.
