Fortus bolsters senior team with new VAT hire

Fortus Business Advisors & Accountants is welcoming the arrival of senior VAT specialist, David McGeachy, who will be joining as Head of VAT.

With over 20 years of experience working for top firms in VAT advisory, David brings with him extensive expertise in developing solutions to address clients often challenging business needs.

David began his career qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen, before training in tax and specialising in VAT, where he then moved on to spend around 15 years working for PwC and KPMG as a VAT advisor. Before his move to Fortus, David was the National Head of VAT at top 20 accountancy firm, Saffrey Champness, where he spent over seven years.

During his career, David’s advised across all sectors on property VAT and the complex issues that often arise. He’s also advised clients on their supply chains into the EU and setting up in both the UK and overseas, working closely with Customs specialists. He’s also assisted clients in resolving disputes with HMRC and will now continue to help businesses find bespoke solutions to their specific needs.

Speaking on his appointment as Head of VAT at Fortus, David commented:

“I’m delighted to be joining the Fortus team and supporting its continued growth at what is an exciting time for the business. My focus will be to use my expertise and experience to help Fortus’ clients solve challenges posed by the current economic climate, Brexit and the rapid pace of change in how business is done across all sectors.”
