New directors at Dawsongroup truck and trailer

News | April 23, 2021

Leading family-owned rental, leasing and contract hire business, Dawsongroup truck and trailer (DTT), has promoted two senior managers to director level, following what it describes as “continuous, long-term commitment and achievement” in their previous roles.

James Gysin is appointed Contracts Director. James joined DTT in 1994 as Branch Sales Manager at the then Watford branch, but within 18 months was running the company’s flagship Milton Keynes branch, where he delivered 20 years of year-on-year growth to make Milton Keynes DTT’s largest location.

In 2015, he moved to a wider management role as a Regional General Manager (South East), responsible for all branch and rental activities in the region. In the past two years he became the company’s General Manager – National and Key Accounts, leading to his recent promotion to Contracts Director.

Nick McGowan moves from Head of Operations to Operations Director, having joined DTT in 2011, initially as Branch Sales Manager in Manchester, where he increased turnover by 100%.

Within five years, he was appointed Regional General Manager (North) and was responsible for all branch and rental activities across the company’s nine northern branches, achieving a record year for turnover and profit in 2015.

In early 2018, his remit was extended to take on national responsibility for customer fulfilment, service delivery, operating procedures and profit across DTT’s nationwide network of 23 branches.

Announcing the promotions to director level, John Fletcher, Managing Director of Dawsongroup truck and trailer, said:

“Both appointments are thoroughly well-deserved and reward Nick and James’ significant efforts and consistently impressive results over a number of years. They also demonstrate the Dawsongroup main board’s determination to reward loyalty and build succession through achievement.”
