Summer kicks off with rugby camps

News, Sport | August 1, 2021

Bedford Blues

Bedford Blues Community are delighted to announce details for the next rugby camps and skill development days to be held across the summer holiday break.

Hosted once again at Goldington Road, there will be two three-day camps available which will run between Tuesday August 3 and Thursday August 5, then again from Tuesday August 31 to Thursday September 2 as the Blues Community continue to showcase and deliver rugby coaching under Play the Blues Way principles.

For ages between six and 12 years old, with all ability levels welcomed, the price of the full three-day camps, from 10am to 3pm each day, remains £70 per person.

Please note: to ensure these camps run in a safe and secure manner for all youngsters and our coaching staff, we cannot offer the option of attending just one day as everyone will be placed into a group which will remain constant across the three days.

Exclusive for this holiday break will also be a specialist kicking clinic held on Tuesday August 31, followed by a tackling masterclass on Thursday September 2. Both are priced at just £20 from 9:30am to 12pm and should be booked early to avoid disappointment.

Blues Community continue to monitor the latest guidelines from the Government and the RFU in accordance with Bedford Blues’ COVID risk management plan. Any updates or changes will be communicated to all parents before camp start dates.

These camps will work with the RFU regulations to support player development and reintroduce key elements of rugby missing throughout the pandemic. The full Return to Rugby guidance, which will be in operation throughout the summer, can be found on the RFU website.

Blues Community will also do all they can to ensure that groups for each camp are made up with appropriate ages; these camps will look to develop the individual player and support their own development, but cannot guarantee age groups will be perfectly consistent. All attendees are asked to bring their own lunch and water bottle.

There is a £10 discount available to any Bedford Junior Blues members on the three-day camp only, therefore costing just £60, which can be redeemed once using the unique code from the appropriate BJB age group coach.

For any further information, or to hear about the latest offering from Blues Community, contact Community Manager, Adam King on community@bedfordrugby.co.uk
