Take advantage of an impressive track record

Apprenticeships

A new academic year means, for many, a fresh start – a chance to write themselves a new chapter as they continue their journey towards gaining qualifications and securing their dream job.

But it doesn’t just have to be a new start for students. Northampton College is offering a wealth of opportunities for local companies to establish valuable partnerships which can have a long-lasting impact on their business.

The college currently provides a wide range of apprenticeships across a number of key sectors and helps hundreds of local businesses to deliver apprenticeships and access the Apprenticeship Levy. Whether you want to recruit a new apprentice, or are looking to further develop the talent already within your organisation, the college can help.

Northampton College’s track record:

  • 94% of businesses agree that we offer training and assessment in a flexible way
  • 88% of employers would recommend a Northampton College apprentice
  • 88% of apprentices remained in employment after completing their apprenticeship

An effective apprenticeship programme can provide a ready-made pipeline of talent waiting to take their chance in the world of work. From brickwork or business admin to hairdressing or HR, Northampton College offers a range of apprenticeships to give students the opportunity to earn while they learn, and businesses the chance to mould the workforce of the future to their own bespoke requirements.

A carefully structured programme, designed with the help of employers, perfectly matches the needs of businesses with the academic requirements of curriculum – blending classroom-based learning with on-the-job training.

Apprenticeships from Level 2 up to Level 5 are offered, giving students the chance to secure a qualification while gaining valuable experience in the workplace.

Students will work with a mentor to learn job-specific skills with their employer, while 20 per cent of your time will be spent away from the workplace at college.

Apprentices will:

  • Learn practical skills in state-of-the-art facilities
  • Gain nationally recognised qualifications designed with the help of employers
  • Benefit from expert teachers, who all have industry experience and knowledge
  • Earn a wage as well as training
  • Improve their communication, team working, creative thinking and time-management and grow self-confidence.

Every apprentice needs an assessor and the college is looking to add to its team of experienced professionals wanting to help shape the next generation of employees across a multitude of industries and sectors.

If developing and nurturing the talent of tomorrow is something that interests you then speak to Northampton College to see how it can integrate your knowledge and knowhow into a pool of assessors working with the network of employers and apprentices.

The college is also taking part in the Industry Placement pilot, as part of the new T-Level Technical Study programme, which will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to enter employment or progress onto further training and apprenticeships.

Northampton College is also here to help individuals progress in their career – and help companies train up their existing staff – with a range of professional part-time courses designed to give you the skills you need to take the next step. To help employers train and sustain a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce that makes a positive contribution to the success of your business.

Working with organisations of all sizes across Northamptonshire, the college can help address skills gaps and shape the future talent pipeline through apprenticeships, professional courses and work placements.

And, by closely analysing the needs of your business, the Business Centre can help to identify any qualifications required, deliver training where needed and find the perfect candidates for your vacancies.

Part-time courses are on offer to anyone over the age of 18, whether they are just starting out or looking to further their career.

A part-time course could help students gain qualifications linked to a work role; improve their Maths, English and IT skills; develop expertise and progress at work and put them on the fast-track to an exciting new career
