Bosworth College’s BTEC course allows learners to specialise and study a broad range of subjects within Business Studies, while achieving a full Level 3 qualification – equivalent to three full A-levels. One of the main benefits of this course is alternative methods of assessment, including use of real-life case studies, presentations and regular written coursework.
The BTEC course also includes three written timed assessments, which operate in a significantly different way from the traditional linear exams within A-levels. The style of studying on BTEC encourages students to use technology to prepare reports, presentations or undertake role-play to simulate the working business world.
Bosworth BTEC students are well prepared for university life; assignments with regular deadlines equip students with skills such as time management as well as development of vocabulary, language and effective communication.
2021 marked another year of outstanding BTEC Business Studies results with an incredible 100% of all awarded grades being Distinction* to Merit.
The BTEC course includes modules such as:
- Exploring Business
- Personal and Business Finance
- Developing a Marketing Campaign
- Managing an Event
- Recruitment and Selection Process
- Principles of Management
- Business Decision Making
The range of units presents the opportunity for students to study business in depth, while also offering students a wide span of options for university choices. Bosworth Independent College offers six-term programme starting in September or five-term programme starting in January.
Qais, who achieved D*DD and progressed to study International Business, Finance and Economics (with Industrial Experience) at the University of Manchester, said:
“I would recommend Bosworth’s BTEC programme because it offers a different approach to studies and assignments in comparison to A-levels, which I had previously done. BTEC allows you to develop independent research and teamwork skills, which are essential at university.”
Elliott, who achieved D*DD and progressed to study Musical Theatre at the University of Chichester Conservatoire, said: “The teaching works wonders, because I went from only getting four Cs in my GCSEs along with Ds and Es to getting D*DD, which is equivalent to three A-levels. This is partly down to the style of the course. It was much more assignment based which is definitely my type of learning as opposed to exams.”
Bosworth offers outstanding pastoral care, with an average class size of eight. The college has consistently excellent results and offers an environment which help students to flourish and thrive in education.
