Group shortlisted for a prestigious award

As a family company with family values, SH Pratt Group is delighted to have been shortlisted in the Best Place To Work category at the FPC Fresh Awards 2021.

The prestigious awards recognise individuals, supply chain, retailers and businesses excelling within the fresh produce industry, from fruit and vegetables to cut flowers and plants.

The Luton-based banana importer, which was named the winner of the Best Place To Work award in the 2017 awards, put forward an entry based on the feedback from those that are crucial to the success of the business – the employees themselves.

Involvement and engagement from the top down helps to empower everyone, from the senior management team to the quality control teams checking and packing fruit in the ripening rooms and warehouse. When asked for their views on working for SH Pratt, employees used terms like open, proactive, respectable, family company, a good place to work, improvement and challenging.

SH Pratt Group CEO, Robert Wells, said:

We are a family-run business and have always tried to create a true family culture, and to hear some of the things our employees said about working for us was very pleasing.

One of the most important aspects is that our employees feel valued and listened to, and a respected part of the company as a whole. I think this award shows that we’re doing well on that score, and that is something to be proud of.”

SH Pratt Group will find out if they have been successful at the FPC Fresh Awards ceremony at Old Billingsgate in London on November 19.
