A fleet management company in Preston Deanery, Northampton, is celebrating after achieving a five-star rating on Google from more than 170 customer reviews.
Silverstone Fleet Management is even prouder of this achievement after having navigated a tricky trading environment in recent months.
As a knock-on effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, the automotive industry has been hit by a semi-conductor chip shortage that has seen car manufacturers unable to keep up with new vehicle orders.
Scott Norville, Managing Director at Silverstone Fleet Management, said:
“Like all businesses, we have found the last 12 to 18 months challenging. Then a worldwide shortage of the small, silicone semi-conductor chips, which are used for a variety of car parts including digital speedometers, navigation displays and fuel-pressure sensors, slowed production of vehicles across the board and added another headache for our industry.
“But, despite the doom and gloom, our team have been incredible, keeping customers updated on the situation and encouraging them to look at other products, should their first choice be delayed. We have always prided ourselves on our commitment to customers and doing what we can to ensure they have an enjoyable customer experience with us. In fact, we have won several awards for this over the years.”
The team at Silverstone Fleet Management have noticed that some other brokers are compounding the problem by advertising cars that they can’t get hold of, taking fees and payments from customers and then following this up with emails apologising for the delay. Customers are left with no guarantee of when they will get their vehicle but feeling trapped and unable to go elsewhere.
“Honesty and transparency are both hugely important to us and our customers, and unfortunately, these values are not commonplace in the leasing industry,” added Scott.

Despite these recent challenges, the team at Silverstone Fleet Management have been busier than ever with enquiries and are optimistic about the future. The company is also actively recruiting for new members of the team.
