Make this the year you make a difference

News, Wellbeing | January 5, 2022

Businesses that are looking to do more within the local community may well find the ideal solution amongst a friendly, informal group of
young Rotarians.

Rotary MK is an award-winning, new type of Rotary club, working closely with the business community to provide CSR opportunities for companies and immense satisfaction for the individual.

And recruitment is high on the agenda, as with more club members, Rotary MK’s projects in 2022 could be even more successful than 2021. Plans to expand on the good work that has already been done include:

2021: Rotary MK hired a sleigh for one day and collected over £500 for disadvantaged children
at Christmas

2022: The club will build its own sleigh. That way the group can save on the overheads and collect on many more days

2021: Rotary MK built an outdoor pizza oven for young people in a secluded area of the forest school at Caldecotte Xperience

2022: Rotary MK is taking 20 disadvantaged children
to the centre for a weekend camp in a yurt and needs volunteers to help with the activities, including using the pizza oven

2021: To celebrate the work of Rotary International in eradicating polio in all but two countries, Rotary MK planted 4,000 crocus corms in the garden of the MK Hospital
Cancer Centres

2022: Rotary MK is thinking of changing tack and planting some trees to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. A new project group will soon be formed to research and organise the project

Rotary MK has the most diverse membership of any Rotary club in the region in terms of age, gender and ethnicity, with varied meeting opportunities to match that diversity. A fortnightly club newsletter and WhatsApp group keeps everyone updated.

If you would like to join Rotary MK, or simply find out more, contact Secretary Jill Moss on 07702 710781, email jill@rotarymk.org or visit www.rotarymk.org
