Anniversary is the icing on the cake

Food & Drink | May 4, 2022

Crème Brew Lait

Celebrating her business’s fifth birthday this month, Julia Brightman from Crème Brew Lait is enjoying picking up the pace again after she was forced to pivot her relatively new business’s approach when the first lockdown was imposed in 2020.

Based in Bedford, Crème Brew Lait, produces fresh home-made food for corporate events from breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas, to meetings, open days and exhibitions across the region.

Clients have come to understand that Julia recognises that while offering refreshments at a business event is standard, it needs something a little more than a few sandwiches and a couple of flasks of tea or coffee to make a good impression.

“I’d just begun to get established and was building a healthy client base when the pandemic struck and all in-person events were cancelled,”

said Julia.

“Starting my business had been such an exciting time, I was determined not to give up and so I changed tack and began to offer delivery afternoon tea.

“I also used the time to develop the bespoke biscuits side of the business, which are an ideal way for my customers to treat their clients, or promote their brand, with a tasty gift.”

Crème Brew Lait works with clients to come up with a design for a 3D biscuit cutter that captures a company logo or branding. Once the cutter has been made, it can be used for repeat orders for corporate days, exhibition tables or just a special box of treats to give to a valued client.

“Now that we’re getting back to normal and meetings and events are picking up again, the focus is back on catering for events, both business and personal,”

said Julia.

“We can cater for anything from 10 people up to 120 and clients can choose from a range of options that includes buffets, lunches, dessert tables, cakes and biscuits, fruit platters and afternoon tea. All our afternoon teas are served on vintage china with traditional table linen for the authentic experience, and for all catering, a full service and hostess service is available where required.

“After everything we’ve been through over the past two years, I am delighted to have reached the fifth anniversary of Crème Brew Lait as busy as ever and seeing business events finally getting back to normal.”

One customer said:

“Julia has supplied cakes and savoury treats for my coffee mornings for the past 12 months. Her food is always of excellent quality, loads of choice, great value and she is extremely flexible with gluten free, vegan and special dietary requirements. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.”
