Taking it easy out on the lawn

Food & Drink | June 1, 2022

Taking it easy out on the lawn

The Lawn Club, Kettering Park Hotel and Spa’s new outdoor bar, has opened for business, with a food and drink menu that provides something a little bit different when it comes to al fresco eating and drinking.

With its barn-style doors, cedar and living wall cladding, pergolas and wall and floor lights, The Lawn Club is the perfect opportunity to enjoy outdoor space with all the services you’d expect in the hotel’s regular restaurant and bar. The kitchen team has devised a special menu comprising lighter summer dishes and snacks, as well as a selection of afternoon teas, just right for a sunny afternoon or warm evening.

The Lawn Club menu will be served from midday to 7.30pm and includes a range of salads, from poached English lobster with samphire and crusty bread to a Ploughman’s, as well as open sandwiches and burgers, and light and tasty summer desserts.

Afternoon tea, which includes a selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones with clotted cream and preserves and a choice of teas and infusions, is £29.95 or £37.95 with a chilled glass of champagne or Hambledon English Rosé.

Summer classics Pimms Cup and wines are great to share with friends, and there’s an excellent selection of champagne and sparkling English white, red and rosé wines along with beers and ciders and a choice of gins.

Although afternoon tea must be booked in advance, for other food and drinks guests are welcome to simply turn up at The Lawn Club and find a sunny spot in the gardens, making good use of the hotel’s new outdoor furniture as they relax with family and friends.

Andrew Hollett, General Manager at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa, said:

“The Lawn Club is something new and different and there’s already been a good response, with guests making the most of an outdoor get-together when the weather allows. As summer goes on, and the days get hotter, we expect to welcome more and more people in to make the most of The Lawn Club and its bar and menus, while enjoying the beautiful setting of our landscaped gardens.”
