Passengers raise a glass to airport activations

Passengers raise a glass to airport activations

Travellers toasted the opportunity to personalise their own Jura Whisky bottles in a hat trick of airport activations, created and installed by Emerald House Associates (EHA) for client Whyte & Mackay.

In a creative collaboration EHA, the award-winning airport activation specialists, worked with Fieldwork Design Agency, who designed the airport promotion.

EHA’s experts were tasked with bringing to life Fieldwork’s design for the striking Jura Whisky airport activations, which were manufactured and installed by the EHA team at Heathrow’s T5 and T3 alongside being featured at Luton Airport.

The recent trio of travel retail installations allowed air passengers to sample a taste of island life where they could purchase and personalise their own bottle of whisky, distilled on the tiny, remote island of Jura, situated off the West Coast of Scotland.

In a nod to the whisky’s unique coastal heritage, the airport activations featured a range of design elements alongside expertly handcrafted and sourced props depicting Jura’s island life, including lobster pots, driftwood, ropes, nets and plants.

A standout, large-scale bottle-shaped silhouette formed a centrepiece for the airport activations supporting the story of the whisky brand’s island provenance and aimed at inviting intrepid travellers to step onto the island.

Toasting the success of the creative collaboration, EHA’s Head of Projects, Sian Hudson explained how the team got into the spirit of the premium projects. Sian, who project managed the innovative installations, said:

“This was a fantastic project to work on for our long-standing client Whyte & Mackay for Jura Whisky.

“Working with the design by Fieldwork, numerous teams at EHA collaborated to successfully manufacture and install the airport activations across all three sites, which were in situ for a month. The prestigious promotions utilised several of our bespoke services including carpentry, print and acrylic work.”

Luxury display industry experts EHA, whose specialist services include 3D design, large-format printing and acrylic fabrication, create and supply installations at all the UK’s major airports for a range of global companies covering confectionery, liquor and beauty promotions for premium brands including Burberry, Coty, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Jack Daniels, Jameson, Tiffany & Co and Whyte & Mackay.
