How to increase sales working from home

Businesses are suffering due to the Coronavirus. Payments are being delayed. Networking events cancelled.

Being told to work at home will have a massive impact on our mental health and boredom threshold… yet we’re still expected to perform.

I’ve had two speaking gigs cancelled and three LinkedIn training sessions delayed due to the Coronavirus. As a business owner, if you don’t work, you won’t pay the bills and the banks won’t care what struggles you’ve had. They will come after you.

There’s plenty of advice out there like communicate with your team and have regular breaks, I support this.

Having been a homeworker in the past and having to support my business clients through these challenging times, there are ways you can continue to generate more sales while your staff are working from home.

Learning

The more you learn, the more you earn. All the time you’re saving commuting, make sure you read books, listen to podcasts, watch videos on how to sell more. It will make a massive difference in revenue generation.

Adjustment

Working from home sounds great. Less stress, save money on commuting, no back to back meetings all day. Get dressed up like you’re going to work. You achieve more sales in a good shirt than a tracksuit. When you communicate to your team, don’t just use email or text. Actually picking up the phone and talking to someone makes a huge difference to your wellbeing.

Mental health

This has, thankfully, been a public discussion over the last 12 months. Working from home, you can go stir crazy having conference calls all day or staring at the screen. It’s not healthy. Go for a lunchtime walk. Hit the gym. Swim. Meditate. This is all valuable towards your mental health and wellbeing. People need people.

Keep supporting your clients

People come together during tough times. Keep sending your clients valuable content and insight that will help them. Support others. Care for others. It makes a huge difference.
