New year, new partner

Hawsons Chartered Accountants have announced the appointment of Aaron Hemmington as a Tax Partner in the firm with effect from January 1, 2021.

Aaron is one of four partners based at the Northampton office, joining Richard Burkimsher, David Cairns and David Owens.

Aaron is a Chartered Tax Adviser with 20 years of experience in tax and he joined the firm in 2013 after working for a mid-tier firm of accountants in Northampton for a number of years.

His main focus is advising owner-managed businesses and large companies on a myriad of tax issues and opportunities including re-organisations, succession planning, research and development tax relief, exit planning and corporate acquisitions and disposals.

Aaron said: “It has been great to be involved in the growth of the Tax Division of the firm in the last few years and it is exciting to now be appointed as a partner. I look forward to continuing to assist individuals and companies in the Northamptonshire area to navigate their way through the complexities of the tax system and to plan in the most tax effective manner.”

Aaron grew up in the county and attended the University of Northampton. He lives in Northampton with his young family and enjoys music, sport and assisting with the coaching of his son’s football team.

Fellow partner, Richard Burkimsher said: “We are delighted to welcome Aaron to the partnership. His appointment underlines our strategic commitment to offering a high level of specialist tax services to our clients and to continue to grow the department. It is a great way for the firm to move positively into 2021.”
