Capturing the essence of a corporate identity

Bringing together a wealth of combined experience left two Northamptonshire firms with a very happy customer and, fittingly, a sense of wellbeing all round.

Mango Interiors Group and iOTA Office Furniture, founded in 2019, have recently completed a major refurbishment for Milton Keynes client doTERRA Europe, which specialises in essential oils and aromatherapy products. Looking to create an environment that reflected the firm’s commitment to natural, healthy living, the project introduced innovative natural features to the premises, as well as covering all the practical aspects of a well-run, busy office.

Mango Interiors Group and iOTA Office Furniture were both founded relatively recently, but while the firms may be young in years, they are not in experience, since between them directors Daniel and Emma Walker have 28 years’ experience in the industry. In that relatively short time, and despite much of that period being affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the workload has steadily increased and the firms are building a reputation for bespoke projects, large and small and to fit a wide range of budgets.

Mango offers end-user office fit-out services that turn ideas and designs into reality, covering all aspects of interior works, and providing anything an office might require.

That includes refurbishment of an existing occupied space that maybe looking a little tired and in need of an uplift, or the fit-out of new offices during a client’s relocation; and dilapidation works, when a tenant has left a building and there are works required to bring the building back to a condition where it is ready to be re-let or sold. This covers all interiors aspects, as well as exterior works, roofs, masonry, cladding and landscape.

iOTA offers project design, space planning and, most importantly, providing the right products to meet the needs of the workplace. That could be anything from the everyday desks and chairs, through to the less obvious such as, in doTERRA’s case for instance, a tree in the middle of reception.

Director of iOTA, Emma Walker, said:

“Our knowledge allows us to provide the correct products, specific to a client’s needs, but also an idea of the more unusual features, like the tree and the moss wall we installed for doTERRA.

“It’s important to be practical, and that’s our starting point, but the final finishings and furnishings can make or break an office design and it is imperative that you get it right, for it to inspire, enhance productivity and retain your current staff and attract those of the future.

“We aim to create the wow factor, and we certainly feel that we were given scope to do that with doTERRA. The results are amazing and we have a very happy client.”

iOTA begins every project with an in-depth consultation with the client, taking time to get a full understanding of the business, staff and technologies and gathering information as to what the client’s brand identity means to them, what motivates staff and the aspirations they have for the space. This information allows iOTA to create and design a space that not only reflects the brand and vision but offers a functional working space that inspires and encourages peak performance.

CAD software is used to create initial designs with 2D and 3D plans and renders, so that clients can get a clear idea of what the space will look like and can make changes to the plans until they are happy with them.

Daniel, a Director of Mango and iOTA, said:

“The combination of the two companies gives the clients everything they need, from the structural fit-out and reworking of the space, right through to how it will look when it’s all done.

“By working together, we consider everything as a whole, from the first consultation; how to make the most of the space available, what would work, what the client needs, what options are available, which means everything comes together naturally.”

With so many products on the market, it can be a minefield choosing office furniture and iOTA has access to showcase offices and showrooms where clients can visit to see the design and try items for themselves. If the exact product isn’t available, there is an option to have items bespoke made.

Emma added:

“Comfort, ergonomics and agile working all need to be taken into account, as does the health and wellbeing of your employees. Furniture is an investment and you need to look at all factors whether working at home or in the office.”
