Ballyhoo PR, a public relations and copywriting business in Corby, has appointed a new Senior PR Executive.
Laura Smith joins Ballyhoo PR from Milton Keynes digital marketing agency Blush Digital. Prior to that she worked in PR and journalism for more than ten years with roles including Chief Reporter for Luton News and Dunstable Gazette, PR and Events Manager for Barnfield Education Services, and PR Executive for Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce.
In her new role, Laura will be supporting the team on a range of projects and campaigns. These will vary from traditional PR, such as writing press releases and magazine features, to the more modern, digital elements of PR such as blogs, website content and reaching out to digital media platforms to get clients featured on relevant websites, podcasts and social media accounts.
This latest appointment for Ballyhoo PR takes the team up to a workforce of four.
Emma Speirs, Director of Ballyhoo PR, said:
“I’m really excited to announce Laura’s appointment and welcome her to Ballyhoo PR.
“With her wealth of experience across all areas of PR, from local newspaper journalism and editing a business to business (B2B) magazine, to digital PR outreach and content creation, she is a perfect match for the type of work we do. We are very much looking forward to introducing Laura to our clients and working with her.”
Laura added:
“I am absolutely delighted to join the Ballyhoo Crew and can’t wait to meet all our clients. It is wonderful to be given such a fantastic opportunity and I’m looking forward to working with Emma and the team to provide the best possible service.”
To help businesses through the pandemic and beyond, Ballyhoo PR recently launched a Virtual PR and Comms Team service which is available from as little as £200 a month. As this service is available on a rolling monthly contract, it can be used to plug any gaps businesses may have as a result of furloughing staff. This ensures that companies can still get their messages out there to maintain a presence and attract new business to get back on their feet again.
“We realised last year that some businesses had no choice but to furlough marketing and PR/comms staff but that then resulted in nothing going out on their social media accounts, no new website content being added and no presence in the local business press or important trade magazines,” said Emma.
“To be doing this activity consistently and then stopping abruptly could make matters even worse, as potential clients or customers have no way of finding out how to buy from you or do business with you. We wanted to do something proactive to help local businesses in this situation. A service like this can act as a stop-gap to keep a business visible during this difficult period but for a minimum outlay.”
