Global learning in the classroom

Bosworth Independent College firmly believes that education is a great responsibility and privilege. The college is a busy, vibrant and culturally diverse environment, where students get the opportunity to study in a classroom alongside British, European and international students.

In an international classroom, students immerse themselves in the reality of multiculturalism, this dimension sparks interest in all lessons taught at Bosworth. Students are encouraged to compare and share different perspectives and ideas, as well as listen and learn from their peers. This has a unique advantage in helping students see the world through a distinct prism and form an international mindset, which can ultimately lead to a prosperous and fascinating future anywhere in the world.

Students exposed to multicultural environments are able to cultivate the vital aptitude needed to thrive at university, including an ability for independent research and objective thinking. Bosworth alumni, Minh, said: “Life is a journey. You can choose to make it mediocre, or you can craft an extraordinary one. I chose to embark on a profoundly impactful journey by coming to Bosworth. Here, I was equipped with the knowledge, intrapersonal and interpersonal skills that will benefit me for the rest of my life.”

Minh is starting his Master’s degree in Pharmacology at the University of Oxford in October, 2021. Leading universities are highlighting the importance of global awareness and are looking for students who are able to reflect and tackle urgent issues that face society worldwide.

The Bosworth student body often finds itself in the midst of college events and charity fundraisers, from international projects like toilet twinning, that supports education programmes about sanitation and helps communities to build latrines in third world countries, to raising money for animals in need at local veterinary charities. Students actively engage with local and international communities, which helps them develop a deeper compassion for different cultures, global and political issues.

Each student at Bosworth looks forward to fulfilling their academic and individual potential. Developing a global perspective at school is the key to being a well-rounded person who is able to interact with diverse social, economic and professional environments.

Bosworth can offer the breadth of knowledge and experience required for students to excel in higher education and in the world of work.
