Space to find a new way of working

Investment in improvements to its premises in Furnace Lane, Wellingborough, has left Dufeu IT Solutions with not only an attractive and inspiring place to work but also one with a bespoke design that lends itself to a growing company in a modern world.

The interior work is completed at the site, which now houses not only Dufeu IT’s sales and technical engineering team, but also its print division, which was previously at a separate site in Wellingborough.

As well as doubling the workshop space to allow the technical team more capacity to work on clients’ laptops and PCs, to increasing efficiency, the rest of the building has been fitted out to provide workstations, collaborative spaces and break-out areas to meet the needs of today’s workforce.

Dufeu IT Solutions provide a comprehensive range of IT and technical services for businesses, supporting all IT needs, from strategic projects to day-to-day management and maintenance.

From the practical infrastructure – cabling, broadband, telecoms, devices and hardware – through to office relocations and implementing cyber security and cloud solutions, Dufeu IT advise, develop and implement, backed up to managed services ranging from first-line IT support through to technical and business consultancy, back-up and continuity strategies.

The print division offers solutions that can drastically reduce costs and improve workplace productivity thanks to high-quality service, market-leading products and transparent, hassle-free contracts.

Qualified technicians and a proven track record as an IT solutions provider enable Dufeu IT to build trusted, working relationships that give clients peace of mind that their systems are in good hands and that there is support in helping them evolve with innovating technology.

Greg Du-feu, who founded the company in 2010, said:

“The investment in the refurbished offices has always been about enhancing the environment for the team.

“Firstly, we wanted a space they would want to come and work in, so we created modular breakout areas where collaboration can happen, as well as plenty of options for getting away from their desks, just to go and sit somewhere different, maybe somewhere quieter.

“It’s such a good place to work that we have even had customers who’ve come in for meetings, and when we’re done, they’ve just hung around for a while, got on with some work of their own and just enjoyed being in the environment we’ve created.”

The workshop space has doubled, replacing what were becoming cramped conditions with no room to work on more than four or five laptops without spilling over into someone else’s area, with enough space for twice that, as well as shelving and counter space to work on desktop PCs.

“The extra space has definitely enhanced efficiency,”

said Greg.

“And now that we’re back in the office, the team is working more efficiently together, too.

“We pretty much worked from home from the week before the government announced the first lockdown. We had a continuity plan in place anyway that we used for snow days, everything was in the cloud and the team just had to jump on their laptops and work from wherever they were.

“But that wasn’t going to work long term. Particularly the more junior engineers need someone around them to answer questions and give them support when they need it. Teams meetings are great, but it’s the day-to-day help and support you just can’t get from working remotely.

“The print management team moving into the same building now has also meant new opportunities through finding synergy between the two sets of customers, it’s created more business and it’s made for a smoother operation.

“Hopefully, now that they have come back into the office, we’ve provided the team with a brand new environment that makes them keen to come to work. And we’ve started doing things a little bit differently, too, we stayed on one evening to watch the football during the Euros and we’ve had a barbecue with an adult-size bouncy castle – little things, but we want to do more of that.

“It’s all about creating a good place to work and enhancing employee satisfaction which will, in turn, mean that they are happier and more productive.”
