New faces making early progress

Hawsons are committed to regular investment in new trainees and proud of the fact that many stay on post-qualification to carve out their careers with the firm. Four more new arrivals were welcomed through the doors in June.

Alicia Cox said:

“After completing my AAT Level 3 qualification in May this year, I decided to continue my studies and complete my ACA qualification at Hawsons. I’ve been at Hawsons for three weeks now, and everyone has been really welcoming and friendly.”

Another new ACA trainee, Clair Mathews said:

“I have only just started with Hawsons, but I feel I am settling in well. I am due to start my training contract in September and I am thoroughly looking forward to pursuing my career within the firm.”

Clair works closely with her colleagues to gain a better understanding and experience of the role and she has settled in well.

Andrew Blyth joined the tax team. He said:

“I am excited to be undertaking my apprenticeship under the guidance and expertise of the Hawsons Tax team. It was daunting to start something completely different from anything I had done before, but everyone at Hawsons has been very kind and understanding.”

Andrew has made an impact and has swiftly progressed in his first few months.

Holly Wilson joined on the ACA programme and has already been involved with a number of audit and accountancy assignments.

Holly said:

“I joined Hawsons after graduating from Sheffield University with a maths degree. I have learnt a lot already and I’m looking forward to starting my ACA studies.”

She has experienced a big change between leaving university and entering the workplace but feels as though she’s adapted smoothly into her new position.

Richard Burkimsher, Partner at Hawsons said:

“It is always great to welcome new faces to the office. Seeing people motivated to develop professionally, completing their studies while working on the job is great to see. Our management team are reassuring and supportive and strives to ensure everyone feels comfortable when they first join us and are at ease when they start working independently.

“We continue to give internal support throughout tailored study programmes and provide a high standard of training with a helping hand from colleagues, managers and partners.”

Hawsons will continue to invest in people and welcome the new energy and positive atmosphere that is enhanced as a result.
