Mobilising the search for talent

ACS Recruitment has recently unveiled its new van and is taking its quest to find talent for its clients mobile. This proactive approach to recruitment is a fully functioning vehicle that, once in place either at shows, at strategic locations or at clients’ own premises, opens up into an information centre where the recruitment process can begin immediately, or where visitors can find out more about the services offered by ACS Recruitment.

ACS Recruitment provides permanent, part-time and temporary solutions for the industrial and commercial sectors, as well as on-site recruitment partnerships with some of the biggest UK retailers at distribution centres across the region.

Its packages are bespoke to each client, regardless of the type of work or volume of staff required. Experience and knowledge in the logistics sector means the team can respond quickly to demands on the logistics and online retail sectors thanks to unexpected challenges such as the pandemic, or regular peak periods like the run-up to Christmas and Black Friday trading.

Now, the agency has another potential route to growth and expansion with a fully liveried vehicle out on the roads and ready spread the word about ACS Recruitment.

“I’ve always wanted to do something like this but it was really in response to staffing shortages and what we could do to help our clients find the talent they are looking for.

“Rather than spending thousands on job boards promoting roles, we thought about how we could approach clients from a different angle – a mobile recruitment strategy. We developed it so that the sides of the vehicle have all our details, for employers and candidates, and a QR code that they can scan, if and when it’s safe to do so, to find out more about us.

“Then it’s designed so that when it is stationary, the side opens up and we can use it as a visitor hub where people can come in and have a conversation about what we have to offer. Sometimes we’re actively recruiting for a client, usually when there’s a big intake required, and other times it’s just making people familiar with the platforms job seekers and employers use.

“We’re combining modern technology with old school methods of going out and speaking to people and we’re very excited about the possibilities.”

Whenever the ACS Recruitment van is out and about, there will be a driver and a member of the recruitment team, armed with the information businesses and job seekers need. During the COVID pandemic, when a lot of services went online, the scope of ACS Recruitment widened considerably, and the company picked up clients across the UK.

“We have clients far and wide now, so a mobile recruitment hub is going to prove valuable to those businesses as well,” said Chris. “It’ll be used nationally as well as regionally, something that’s very important to us as we continue to build the business, providing a fully supportive solution.

“If a client has a specific project on the go, they might want us to set up the van close to their premises or at a strategic location they have identified where they feel there may be a potential workforce.”

The ACS Recruitment van will also be seen at key events, fun days, anywhere where the company feels would help raise its profile. There are plans to run social media promotions in future, where visitors who take selfies and use the We’re Going Places slogan could win prizes.

“Having just celebrated our tenth anniversary last year, we’re excited about how we’re growing and raising our profile,” added Chris.
