Bosworth Independent College is opening its doors to Year 7 and Year 8 in September 2023.
The Key Stage 3 (Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9) programme has been designed to help students fulfil their individual academic potential. With a diverse mix of nationalities each year, Bosworth students regularly find themselves working alongside classmates from different cultural, social and working backgrounds. This provides a perfect environment for curious minds to learn and grow during these pivotal years.
Bosworth students are taught by highly qualified academics who have the talent to inspire young minds. Through a combination of traditional classroom learning and hands-on experiences, students develop their presentation and research skills. They also have opportunities to lead and contribute to discussions, take individual responsibility for their learning, and develop good personal organisation skills.
In addition to their academic subjects, students at Bosworth also have the opportunity to engage in a range of extracurricular activities. These activities, which are based on the students’ interests and career choices, help to develop well-rounded individuals who are prepared for success in their future academic and personal lives.
The college’s aim is to cultivate confident, independent learners who realise their full potential. In addition to their academic subjects, students have weekly sports and PHSEE lessons to meet National Curriculum requirements. These lessons help instil good study habits and provide individual care for each student.
In addition to their regular classes, students also participate in daily Personal Tutor sessions and the After School Programme. These sessions provide a chance for students to explore their possible future career choices and engage in activities that interest them. The college’s Personal Development Programme offers a range of activities, including sports skills, art portfolio, science club, and music and performance.
Academically able students are identified early on and provided with support to help them progress to the Oxbridge or Medic support programmes. In Years 7, 8 and 9, the college will offer Crest Awards, a national award scheme that inspires young people to think and behave like scientists or engineers.
Years 7, 8 and 9 is an important stage in a student’s education. During this time, students are introduced to a broad curriculum that keeps doors open for future specialisations in Year 10 and Year 11 (GCSE). During these years, Bosworth provides students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for future success.
