A state-of-the-art MOT bay is just part of the expansion of Croyland Car Megastore that will enhance the service the dealership offers not only to car buyers but to the community as a whole.
Significant investment in the groundworks and technology required to bring the provision of MOTs in house means that Croyland no longer has to have pre-sale MOTs carried out by an external test centre.
Two experienced technicians have recently joined the team to carry out the testing. They will also be taking bookings from returning and new clients who are looking for a reputable centre at which to have their car undergo its annual check.
The move is part of Croyland’s growth and the ability to offer MOT testing goes alongside the car sales department, the on-site Shell petrol station and convenience store.
General Manager of Croyland Car Megastore Mark Swindells said:
“The new facility is going to open up new opportunities. We always test any car we sell if there’s less than six months of the MOT remaining, but we’ve always had to send them out to a test centre.
“What we’ve found, however, is that customers who’ve bought from us often ask if they can bring the car back the following year for testing and that’s not something we could offer. It’s been a substantial investment in the facility and two new, experienced technicians, but we think it’s definitely an additional benefit for our customers, and for anyone else locally that is looking for somewhere for their MOT.”
The MOT facility is set up for any Class 4 vehicle, so customers can have their panel vans, small campers or motorhomes tested there. Mark said:
“We’re hoping that local companies and individuals will be keen to take advantage of using Croyland not just for their vehicle purchases, but also the opportunity to remain with us throughout the life of the vehicle for MOTs and services.”
