Marking Milestones with Diversification

IT provider EasiPC is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary this month, and to celebrate the firm has announced that it is now diversifying the business and will be making services available to businesses from a wider range of sectors. This move exhibits EasiPC’s commitment to further growth and reflects a maturation of the business.

Beginning in 2009 as an IT services provider exclusively for education, Northamptonshire based EasiPC has experienced long-term, organic growth and now provides IT services to over 120 schools both directly and through multi-academy trusts (MATs), bringing a high standard of technical support and gradually adding a comprehensive suite of services to its offer. Larger MATs often have similar structures to larger businesses, with staff across multiple sites and high numbers of staff users.

Obtaining accreditations including ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, as well as meeting the rigorous digital standards set by the Department of Education that all schools must meet, has positioned EasiPC well to expand its offer to businesses in all sectors. Their commitment to high standards and rigorous processes from their well established team make for a unique offer to businesses, adding value and setting a new IT standard for the business community throughout Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire.

Standards in business

Many businesses, particularly small to medium-sized enterprises, operate without adhering to any form of digital standards, leaving them vulnerable to cyber threats.

This absence of robust cyber security leaves their IT systems vulnerable to risks such as data breaches, cyber-attacks and potential legal issues. Without safeguards in place, businesses become prime targets for cyber criminals who exploit these weaknesses to conduct data breaches, ransomware attacks, and other malicious activities.

Surprisingly, it’s not uncommon to find that small rural primary schools implement stronger security measures than some larger corporations.

While it may be surprising that some businesses do not have these safeguards in place in 2024, opinions are changing. Businesses are realising that data security is important to their customers, as well as for compliance. Part of GDPR requires any institution that holds and processes data on individuals to have that information readily available to those individuals, who can then make decisions about what can be done with that data. If the data is lost, then that obligation cannot be fulfilled, which can incur heavy fines.

Enhancing digital standards and collaborating with accredited providers like EasiPC can significantly benefit businesses and customers by reinforcing data protection. Robust security protocols foster customer trust, as their sensitive information is better safeguarded.

EasiPC offers comprehensive security services, including proactive monitoring for threats like outdated software, exposed services, compromised credentials, unsecured cloud links, and simulated phishing and attack tests with detailed reporting.

This regular reporting helps clients stay vigilant about potential threats and take timely actions to mitigate risks and protect data integrity.

A wide range of services

Reputable IT providers like EasiPC offer more than security solutions. They are adept at delivering comprehensive support services, including hardware maintenance, on-site assistance, and network support. In addition to security measures, EasiPC provides expertise in areas such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 implementations, including Software as a Service set-up and back-up solutions. Its services extend to server installation, maintenance and back-up procedures, ensuring businesses have a reliable and secure IT infrastructure.

Despite their diversification, EasiPC will be maintaining a strong commitment to servicing the education community too. Staying abreast of important developments in the space, like cloud computing, child safeguarding and data protection, has been key to its success and EasiPC will remain at the cutting edge of the required standards and processes to operate at the highest level in this space.

Russell Smith, Director at EasiPC said:

“We’re excited to bring our high standards and excellent service to the business community. We understand businesses are only likely to change their provider if they are not receiving a good service, or if they need to make savings. We believe that we can help businesses on both of these fronts. We’re excited to use our expertise, resources and security technology to help businesses add value for their customers and to protect them from digital threats.”

As EasiPC embarks on this new chapter, it will continue its commitment to providing quality IT services to both the education and business communities, empowering students and professionals to reach their potential through technology.
