Firm gets appeal under way with generous donation

Chartered surveyors Kirkby Diamond in Milton Keynes has donated £2,000 to help launch Milton Keynes Community Foundation’s annual Cost-of-Living Appeal.

The Foundation runs the appeal each year, with the aim of addressing the rising costs faced by local charities and community organisations, helping them to continue delivering vital services to vulnerable residents in Milton Keynes. As the cost of living rises, so do the running costs of charities working to support those hit hardest in the community. The success of the Cost of Living Appeal relies on the generous support of the local business community.

With rising costs in housing, food and energy, countless households are already struggling to make ends meet. Families who once managed comfortably are now faced with impossible choices – between heating their homes or putting food on the table. The impact is devastating, particularly on children who go to bed hungry, parents who are overwhelmed with worry, and elderly residents who are isolated in cold homes.

How your business can help make a difference

Businesses can help in a number of ways:

  • Become a Business Member: Business Members and Fundholders provide long-term support to the communities in which they operate. By choosing to send donations into the Foundation’s Disadvantage and Poverty Fund, they can support charities and community projects working to alleviate some of the financial pressures facing households across Milton Keynes – plus, there are many benefits for the business.
  • Make a one-off donation – every little helps! Donations go a long way in supporting the work of the Community Foundation, helping it reach even more charities and community groups working tirelessly to support vulnerable local families and individuals.
  • Fundraise – whether it’s through a coffee morning, a festive jumper day or a sponsored walk, engaging employees is a great way to support the community in which they live and work.
