A new partnership that is hitting the right note

Singing sensation Faryl Smith has joined the GIANT Talent team as the opera star explores new opportunities in her celebrated career.

The new professional partnership hits the right note as the Northamptonshire performer teams up with industry-leading marketing and PR agency GIANT. Faryl is the latest famous face to join the GIANT Talent team, which includes sports stars and celebrities.

The soprano superstar shot to fame at the tender age of 12 when she wowed the nation and head judge Simon Cowell on Britain’s Got Talent, prompting Simon to say ‘you are literally a one-in-a-million child performer … the most talented youngster I’ve ever seen’.

Whereas for some child performers’ stardom is short-lived, Faryl’s prolific performance career continues to shine, seeing her perform for royalty and travelled the world as she achieved global fame.

As Faryl looks to further diversify her illustrious career, collaborating with the GIANT team to explore exciting opportunities, the 29-year-old has achieved numerous career highlights on her operatic journey to date.

Since becoming a household name after appearing on BGT she signed a contract with Universal for £2.3m, the largest ever granted to a schoolgirl. Her debut album ‘Faryl’ became the fastest-selling solo classical album in British chart history, selling 29,200 copies in the first week, reaching number one in the Classical Charts and number four in the UK album charts.

Faryl said:

“I have enjoyed some incredible moments during my successful career so far, including singing at the Royal Variety Performance, where I appeared alongside Lady Gaga, Michael Bublé, Whoopi Goldberg and Miley Cyrus, and I met the Queen.”

As well as making chart topping records, Faryl has also broken some, and holds a Guinness World Record for singing I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing in 10 different languages!

Additional claims to fame include gracing the front covers of popular publications including magazines Hello, You and Classic FM, alongside multiple TV appearances on shows including This Morning, Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, The Paul O’Grady Show, Ready Steady Cook and Blue Peter.

The award-winning singer said:

“It is wonderful to be joining the GIANT Talent team, especially as they are also based in my home county.

“I am extremely excited to discover different opportunities to further diversify my career.”

Ben Thomas, Managing Director of GIANT, added:

“It is fantastic to have Faryl join our growing GIANT Talent team. Having such a sensational singer within our talent team is great and we are looking forward to showcasing and sharing Faryl’s many talents.

“Faryl is a natural addition to the GIANT Talent portfolio of stars and it’s an honour for us to work with her. Having grown up in Kettering, she has a connection to our region. We’re excited to bring her incredible voice to as many people as possible.”

Faryl’s range has seen her sing in front of audiences of hundreds of thousands – she revealed the Royal Albert Hall is her favourite venue – and some of her most memorable moments have been performing the National Anthem at world-famous sporting fixtures including the FA Cup Final, Six Nations Games and at Wimbledon.

Kettering-born Faryl began singing from a very young age and revealed her nan would encourage her to sing after her nursery sessions. Her granddad’s mother had been an opera singer, so he encouraged Faryl to join a choir and take some formal lessons.

She went on to attend the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama and continued to train in opera, through vocal undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, alongside an opera studies course.

Her operatic journey has seen her undertake eight years of training due to the advanced techniques and multiple languages she’s had to master. She has performed at the world-famous Glyndebourne Opera House, where she will take to the stage again this summer.
