As the academic year draws to a close, Wellingborough School is proud to celebrate a year rich in opportunity, growth and innovation. The School’s co-curricular programme – described as a ‘significant strength’ in its recent Independent Schools Inspectorate report – continues to be a defining feature of its educational philosophy.

At Wellingborough, enrichment is not an afterthought but a central pillar of a mission to develop well-rounded, confident and capable young adults. Over the past year, pupils of all ages have taken part in a diverse range of activities designed to broaden their orizons and build essential life skills.

Visits to Cambridge University for an Alumni Lecture and the opportunity for pupils to take part in drama workshops led by professional West End performers have been identified as highlights of the year by both parents and students alike.

Long-established programmes such as the Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award remain central to character development, while initiatives like Young Enterprise and student leadership roles empower pupils to take the initiative and prepare for life beyond the classroom.

Looking ahead, the 2025-2026 academic year will mark an exciting new chapter in the School’s history, with the opening of a state-of-the-art Technology Centre. Architecturally striking and educationally ambitious, the new facility will enhance both the physical campus and the School’s academic offer. It will serve as a hub for progressive teaching and learning, supporting a curriculum that encourages critical thinking, creativity and adaptability.

The new Technology Centre will also create exciting opportunities for collaboration with the wider community. Local schools and businesses will be invited to engage with the space, through shared events and educational partnerships, enabling access to cutting edge facilities.

In addition, Wellingborough School is expanding opportunities for local organisations and businesses to make use of its extensive grounds and facilities. As a school recognised and respected through its distinguished history for delivering excellence in education, Wellingborough School is looking forward to the future, with new facilities and a rich co-curriculum offering opportunities for pupils and the local community alike.
