A very special way to celebrate

Christmas is always a special time at The Hopping Hare, where the front of house and kitchen teams make a point of creating something new and different to celebrate the festive season in style.

A visit can be made all the more special by taking advantage of one of the restaurant’s 20 boutique bedrooms, either for visitors from out of town or those who simply want to relax and not worry about how they are going to get home.

The Christmas menus at the two AA Rosette restaurant, which also won a Gold award in the Restaurant of the Year category at last year’s Weetabix Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards, reflect the team’s commitment to fresh, local produce and creating innovative dishes, with a dash of festive flair.

The layout of the restaurant, with its bar area, restaurant and conservatory, lends itself perfectly to cosy dining for couples and small groups through to space that can cater to up to 60 people, either as part of a Christmas night out, private function, birthday party, wake or company celebrations.

On the Christmas Fayre Menu, which is priced at £45 per person, there’s something to suit all tastes, from honey roast parsnip soup and smoked and torched salmon, to roast Gressingham turkey with chestnut and cranberry stuffing with all the trimmings; slow-cooked shoulder of lamb, pan-fried fillet of sea trout; and garlic and thyme baked butternut squash. The dessert selection includes Christmas spiced sticky toffee pudding and dark chocolate and cherry truffle.

The Christmas Fayre Menu, which is perfect for businesses looking to celebrate in style and treat staff to a Christmas meal to remember, will be served from Monday, November 24 until Christmas Eve and from Saturday, December 27 until Tuesday, December 30. A £10 per person non-refundable deposit is required on parties of eight or more.

The Hopping Hare is fully booked for Christmas Day, but there is a special Boxing Day menu which includes starters wild mushroom arancini and chicken liver parfait, and, among the mains, roast sirloin of grass-fed beef and pan-fried fillet of sea trout. The Boxing Day menu is priced at just £48 per adult or £25 per child, for which a £10 non-refundable deposit per person, along with food choices, is required by Friday, December 12.

Accommodation can be booked separately for those wanting to enjoy a few drinks and end the evening in relaxed fashion in one of stylish, individually designed en suite bedrooms, without having to worry about lifts and taxis. Similarly, overnight stays are ideal for those visiting family or friends in the area, or enjoying a night out in town, over the Christmas season.
