Thriving Northamptonshire vehicle leasing firm Silverstone Leasing has partnered with global electric automotive powerhouse Tesla to provide a brand-new self-serve test drive station for customers.
Drivers wanting to try out the Tesla Model 3 or Model Y can now visit Silverstone Leasing’s Preston Deanery base and take the cars out independently, using state-of-the-art technology.
Bookings are made directly through the Tesla website or app, where customers choose a one-hour slot before receiving clear instructions by email and text on how to access the vehicles.
On arrival, they simply unlock the chosen car using a smartphone and head out for an unaccompanied drive. The quick, simple process is designed to remove any pressure that might come with a traditional test drive.
Scott Norville, Managing Director of Silverstone Leasing, said: “The early response has been excellent. Becoming an official Tesla Partner has allowed us to offer something genuinely different, and the reaction from customers has already shown this was the right decision.
“People value how simple and stress free the self-serve process is, and it has brought a wave of new interest through our doors. The level of engagement at this early stage shows how strong the appetite is for Tesla, and how well this model fits with the way customers want to shop for their next car.
“Customers are personally greeted at the Self-Serve Station and offered a hot drink, while after the drive there is always someone available to answer questions, compare models and go through the funding options available through Silverstone Leasing. This creates a smooth journey from test drive to order, with the reassurance of expert guidance.”
Local businesses are also invited to test drive the cars, giving company directors and fleet managers the opportunity to understand the state-of-the-art Tesla technology and
explore whether it fits into their future fleet plans.
Scott added: “It’s a brilliant opportunity for local organisations to get hands-on with Tesla without any pressure.”
