A unique blend of high adventure and average cars – that sums up Bedford Blues Foundation’s Banger Rally 2026, which will see participants journey from England down the stunning west coast of France, into the dizzy heights of the Spanish Pyrenees, and finishing in Andorra’s capital
The event will raise vital funds for the work Blues Foundation does, helping to support young people in Bedfordshire, whilst traveling across some of Europe’s amazing views in a bang average car over four days.
Groups will start and finish each day together, allowing them to meet new people whilst seeing some of Europe’s most amazing landscapes and views.
The route will start from Bedford Blues’ home at Goldington Road, journey across to Calais via the Eurotunnel, then head south through rolling countryside to Le Mans, famed for its legendary 24-hour race and charming old town.
From there, the road leads to La Rochelle, a coastal gem with a bustling harbour and medieval towers watching over the Atlantic. Continuing on, the vineyards and refined charm of Bordeaux offer a perfect blend of culture and wine, finishing the day with a visit to Bedford Blues’ partner club in Salles.

After that, it’s on to the stunning Pyrenees, where dramatic peaks, winding mountain roads, and sweeping vistas deliver a breathtaking route into Spain via Formigal. The final leg ventures through the mountains and into Andorra, taking in the 360-degree views across the region.
The fun starts with finding a rally car! Any car taking part must not cost more than £1,500 and must be roadworthy. Any additional spend on the car is up to the individual post purchase.
Included in the challenge will be dinner, breakfast, hotel/accommodation for all four nights, as well as a limited amount of evening drinks. The Eurotunnel crossing and some pre-arranged lunch stops will also be arranged and a mechanic back-up service will be provided throughout the rally.
Paricipants will be responsible for all expenses related to the car, including insurance, tax and fuel, and will need to make their own way back from the Pyrenees finish line.
Fundraising
Whilst the Blues Banger Rally is set to be an amazing adventure, it is first and foremost about raising important funds for Blues Foundation. Each car is asked to commit to raising or donating a minimum of £8,000 – this will be the entry fee.
Anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to get in touch to discuss the many ways in which this total can be achieved; through sponsorship, events or donations.
