Two new senior appointments have completed the Executive Leadership Team at Milton Keynes-based Serbus (formerly ITM Communications), the newly unified brand dedicated to connecting and protecting the UK’s critical national services.
Jonathan Kay joins Serbus as Group Chief Finance Officer and Roddy Wilson joins as Chief Information and Security Officer (CISO).
Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Jonathan Kay joins with more than 25 years’ experience in financial leadership within private equity–backed technology businesses. Formerly Group CFO at Node4, he has operated across IT managed services and data centres, acquiring and integrating multiple businesses and supporting several successful exits. His extensive experience will play a key role in steering Serbus’ financial strategy as it continues to scale.
Chief Information and Security Officer Roddy Wilson is responsible for technical and engineering capabilities across Serbus, combining strategic vision, technical authority and dual use innovation to drive secure product development. He joins following more than 30 years’ experience in the British Army, serving as a senior Royal Signals officer, developing and delivering mission critical secure communication capabilities to enable special operations and NATO missions worldwide.
These two appointments complete the company’s six strong Executive Leadership Team, and closely follow the recent appointments of Chief Revenue Officer Max Baldwin, Chief Delivery Officer Paul Goodbrand and HR Director Lesley Purdie.
Max Baldwin leads the business growth strategy. He has previously led multiple high-profile UK technology and security-focused services growth across nuclear, defence, cyber, and government operations at organisations including Airbus, KBR, NCC Group and IBM.
Paul Goodbrand brings more than 30 years’ experience in delivering ICT managed services into target verticals including defence, health, utilities and data centres. In his previous role, supporting private equity-backed North, Paul served as a Divisional Managing Director, executing “buy and build” growth strategies and integrating businesses throughout a private equity cycle.
HR Director Lesley Purdie, formerly HR Director at Telefónica Tech UK&I, brings extensive experience shaping HR strategy. She has led the people function within major integration programmes and guided organisations through journeys of scale. During her time at Telefónica Tech UK&I, she played a pivotal role in scaling the organisation from 50 to 1,000+ employees.
Following its acquisition by private equity specialist Aliter Capital LLP in 2022, Milton Keynes-based ITM Communications recently announced it is to rebrand as Serbus, aligning its identity with other businesses within the group.
Group CEO, Simon Fieldhouse, commented: “This strengthened Executive Leadership Team marks a pivotal moment in our transformation. These appointments bring exactly the right expertise and experience, aligned to our security DNA, to drive and execute our growth plans, as we aim to become a UK leader in connecting and protecting critical national infrastructure.”
