With Father’s Day just around the corner, Kettering Park Hotel & Spa is planning something that the whole family can enjoy on Dad’s special day.
Everyone is hoping that the weather will stay fine for a barbecue in the hotel’s beautiful gardens, where the Lawn Club Bar will also be open. If necessary, the covered al fresco area and the restaurant will play host to the event instead.
The barbecue, on Sunday, June 21 will be £30 for adults and £15 for children up to 12 years, and it’s wise to book to avoid disappointment.
Throughout the summer, the Lawn Club Bar will be open to guests for drinks between 4pm and 10pm on weekdays, from midday to 10pm on Friday and Saturday and from midday to 6pm on Sunday. Guests enjoying the Lawn Club Bar can also order food from the hotel’s menus.
The Curious Kitchen menu can be enjoyed in the hotel’s restaurant or in the al fresco dining area, which offers guests somewhere to enjoy the warm weather while they eat, with cosy blankets and heaters for when the temperature just starts to dip a little. There’s also a bar menu featuring sandwiches and snacks throughout the day.
Among the Curious Kitchen’s small bites are a bread board with Spanish olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar, as well as Curious cauliflower popcorn; roasted garlic, thyme and rosemary marinated olives; and salt and pepper style tempura king prawns.

The range of starters features Caprese salad, chicken liver parfait, and smoked haddock and spring onion fishcake, while the mains include a Curious Buddha bowl, crispy duck and watermelon salad, and Thai red vegetable curry, as well as classics like Paradise beer battered fish and gammon and egg.
Another favourite for a long, warm summer afternoon is Afternoon Tea, which includes a selection of freshly made finger sandwiches, mini cakes and pastries and scones with jam and clotted cream. Afternoon tea must be booked in advance and costs £32 per person, or £38.50 served with a glass of prosecco or £41.75 with champagne.
Andrew Hollett, General Manager at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa, said: “Summer is always a great time at the hotel, especially when the sun is shining and guests can get out into our fantastic gardens and make the most of it.

“We are looking forward to doing something different for Father’s Day this year, with a barbecue all the family can enjoy in place of our traditional Sunday lunch, and hopefully out on the lawns with a few games and lots of fun.
“But, whether it’s the Lawn Club Bar, dining al fresco or enjoying a meal in the restaurant or bar area, there’s always something to suit everyone at Kettering Park Hotel.”
