A whole selection of festive celebrations

What’s the plan for your Christmas celebrations this year?

Whatever you’ve got in mind, Kettering Park Hotel & Spa has a range of options that’s bound to include something to suit your taste.

From Festive Dinners and Lunches throughout December to Christmas Balls, Father Christmas Sunday lunches and festive afternoon tea, the Kettering venue is the ideal place for anything from dancing the night away with work colleagues, to enjoying a catch up with friends, family or business associates before the big day.

Ideal for a smaller celebration with colleagues and friends, the Festive Lunches and Dinners menu offers classic flavours alongside some stand-out specials. Served in the restaurant, with its cosy ambiance and roaring fires, lunch is available Monday to Friday and dinner Sunday to Thursday evenings.

To start, guests can choose from roasted woodland mushroom and sage soup with chestnut crème fraiche, caramelised onion and goat’s cheese tart, or prawn and poached crayfish salad. For the traditionalists, the mains are headed up by butter-roasted British turkey paupiette with streaky bacon, cranberry farcé and rich pan jus; or there’s slow cooked aged blade of beef with Burgundy red wine, thyme and shallot sauce; or crisp filo pastry vegetable Wellington with braised winter vegetables and wholegrain mustard sauce.

Naturally, the desserts feature a Christmas pudding, specifically a Thwaites’ Award-Winning Ale sticky plum pudding with Baileys vanilla anglaise. There’s also rich Belgian chocolate delice with crème Chantilly and raspberry, or a British cheese selection with artisan biscuits and cinnamon spiced apple puree.

Lunch is £29.95 per adult or £14.95 for children under 12 years, and dinner £34.95 per adult or £17.45 for children. Pre-booking is required and a deposit of £10 per person required.

Where families, friends or businesses want their own space for their Christmas celebrations, for a little more privacy or to style or theme as they wish, the events team will be happy to help put together a bespoke package. The evening will be hosted by the Kettering Park Hotel team, leaving guests to relax and enjoy their get-together in style.

The restaurant also promises to be buzzing with festive spirit on the first three Sundays in December when Father Christmas will around during Sunday lunch. The hotel’s renowned Sunday lunch, created by the award-winning chefs, is £36.95 per adult and £18.45 for children under 12 years, who will all receive a visit from Father Christmas and a gift.

On Friday and Saturday evenings from December 1 until December 23, those dining in the restaurant will be treated to live entertainment from local artists, including singer Jess Annalee. Guests will choose from the hotel’s delicious seasonal menu, which includes house signature dishes such as the ever-popular baked Alaska, flamed at the table, as they enjoy the live music.

For many people, though, Christmas is all about parties and the annual Christmas Ball season gets under way at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa on Friday, November 24 and runs every Friday and Saturday evening from then until Friday, December 22.

The evening promises delicious food, great entertainment, all in twinkling twilight setting that is bound to get everyone in the festive spirit. Guests will be greeted on arrival with a glass of champagne and savoury nibbles before sitting down to the Christmas menu, as detailed earlier. After dinner, there will be dancing to a DJ, with a late-night snack in the shape of a spiced chicken kebab wrap on warm flatbread with a crisp salad and cucumber and yoghurt dressing to keep everyone going.

The range of prices for the Christmas Ball starts at £68.50 and goes up to £76.50, depending on the date chosen. Full details are available on the hotel’s website. Accommodation is, of course, available for partygoers who want to get ready in style and forget the late-night taxi, and prices start at £120 per room, including breakfast.

There’s plenty more going on at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa through December, including Festive Afternoon Tea, which is £32.95 per person (or £39.95 per person for Champagne Afternoon Tea), as well as Christmas Day and Boxing Day evening buffet and a New Year’s Eve Gala Ball, and a range Christmas Packages for two, three or four-night stays including use of the spa, starting at £352 per adult.
