Bedford Samaritans has received a £2,500 donation from the team at Amazon in Milton Keynes.
The charity works 24 hours a day to prevent suicide across Bedfordshire, and provides people with ways to cope through publicity in schools, prisons, hospitals and on the rail network.
The donation from Amazon will go towards operating costs for its Bedford branch.
Victor Pulido, General Manager at Amazon in Milton Keynes, said: “We are pleased to be making this donation to Bedford Samaritans. The work that the charity does across the community for suicide prevention makes such an impact and we appreciate the impact its team has on our community.”
Sarah Greenly, external PR and fundraising deputy director from Bedford Samaritans, added: “The team and I want to thank Victor and the Amazon team for this donation. With support like this, we can continue to work to prevent suicide in Bedford and beyond.”
The donation to Bedford Samaritans was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than five million healthy breakfasts to families in England.
