An invitation to join club’s impressive team

Football fans, or even those less interested in sport but keen on developing skills in the world of hospitality and events, have been presented with an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience.

Kettering Town Football Club is looking for volunteers to help the club continue to grow as one of the leading sports and social events venues in the county, as it establishes itself in its new home at Latimer Park in Burton Latimer.

On the pitch, the team have a healthy fan base watching their efforts in the Southern League Premier Division Central, while off the pitch Latimer Park and its club1872 offers a versatile and sought-after venue for events including business meetings, conferences, parties and weddings.

Refurbished last year, club1872 is the setting for match day hospitality packages and between matches can be tailored to specific needs and budgets, from small executive meetings to conferences and private events for up to 140 people.

As part of its ongoing development, the club is looking for a part-time Events Manager to promote club1872 among local businesses, community organisations and event planners to attract a wide variety of bookings and increase revenue streams. They will also coordinate bookings from initial enquiry, and work with the marketing team to create packages and promotional materials to showcase club1872 and what it has to offer.

Various volunteer positions are also available, including hospitality roles that will involve helping to plan and run events at club1872,including match day hospitality, meeting and greeting guests, serving food and coordinating events. The club is also looking for a volunteer programme editor and a volunteer social media coordinator.

The Kettering Town FC match day programme is already well established and well regarded and is considered one of the best non-league programmes available. To build on that success, the club needs a programme editor who can coordinate content, produce high-quality layouts and liaise with printers to ensure the programme is ready each match day.

Gary Graham, Social Club and Events Manager, said: “The club is thriving and club1872 is getting busier and we need to keep the momentum going. We think the positions that are available would be ideal for someone looking to gain more experience in events management and hospitality.

“They might appeal to someone who is already working in those sectors, or someone looking to move into that area – a student or someone getting ready to leave school perhaps – who is looking for a lively, friendly place to get started. And, of course, for football fans it’s the ideal opportunity to get more involved in the running of a club with a fantastic history and great supporters.”

Full details of the roles on offer are available through the club. Email Gary Graham at gary.graham@ketteringtownfc.com or call 07547 619242. Find out more about Kettering Town FC.
