Businesses from across the county, along with schools, colleges, individuals and teams from the education sector, have until September 12 to get their entries in.

From there, the panels of independent judges will consider the shortlist in time for two glittering awards ceremonies in November Actor and comedian Tom Davis, star of the TV sitcom King Gary and the smash hit film Wonka, will be the host of the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards, to be held at the County Ground in Northampton on Friday, November 21.

A week later, on Friday, November 28, former World Champion badminton player and Olympic silver medallist Gail Emms will be at the same venue to host the Northamptonshire Education Awards.

Sponsors, former winners, judges and invited guests gathered in the Dining Room at DelaprĆ© Abbey to hear Ben Thomas, Managing Director of awards organisers All Things Business unveil details of this year’s events.

He said: “I want to thank all the organisations that have supported us over the years – some amazing things have come out of these awards, and not just in showcasing businesses, schools and teachers. Business owners have become active school governors as a result, and are really making a difference; others have gone into schools to give talks or offered work days to bring young people in to find out more about the workplace.

“There’s still a long way to go, of course, but we believe in our motto of Business needs Education, Education needs Business and hopefully we will all continue to help to make a difference.”

Categories in this year’s Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards include the Professional Services Award, Innovation, Sustainability and Employer of the Year.
