MK Community Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Charity Awards will shine a light on the people and organisations making Milton Keynes a fairer, kinder and more connected place to live. Across 11 categories, the awards will recognise the community projects, large and small charities, and local champions whose efforts ripple through the city.
It is not necessary to work for a charity to take part. Individuals can nominate a charity or community group that has touched their lives, enter the Business For Good award for businesses that go above and beyond for a local charity or project, or put themselves or someone else forward for the Volunteer of the Year award.
This award recognises someone who shows commitment, passion or leadership fuelled by making the city of Milton Keynes better.
The awards are about celebrating what’s good in the community and making sure those stories are seen and shared.
Milton Keynes’ first charity awards will take place on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the iconic Stables venue, bringing together local leaders, philanthropists, businesses and community organisations for an evening of inspiration and celebration.
The categories range from Education and Health & Wellbeing to Environment & Transport, Poverty & Housing, and Work & Local Economy, reflecting the breadth of the work that is going into making Milton Keynes a fairer place to live. There are also special honours such as the Carol Baume Award for Transformational Leadership, and the Ranjit Singh Award for Inclusion, recognising individuals whose vision and dedication outpace what’s expected.
As well as the recognition that comes with being shortlisted or winning, the Charity Awards offer a significant local platform. Finalists’ stories are shared with local media, business leaders and philanthropists, helping organisations raise their profile and build new connections that can open doors for future funding, collaborations, and growth.
This is a chance to thank the people who are making the city better, to celebrate them, and make sure their work doesn’t go unnoticed.
