City gears up for three days of the best live music

MKWeekender is set to transform Campbell Park into one of Milton Keynes’ biggest outdoor music events of the summer, bringing together three days of live music, DJs, Ibiza-inspired performances and family entertainment across the weekend of August 14–16.

Designed as a full weekend experience, the event will combine headline artists, large-scale outdoor production, multiple music stages, VIP experiences, premium food and drink traders and official late-night afterparties across the city.

Each day of the weekend has been curated with its own distinct identity, creating a programme that moves from house music and Ibiza-inspired performances through to live festival anthems and a family-focused closing celebration.

Friday launches the weekend with Ultravegas 30: The Next Chapter, celebrating three decades of one of Milton Keynes’ most recognised dance music brands.

The opening night combines orchestral Ibiza, house music heritage and outdoor festival energy, with Symphonic Ibiza performing live alongside a headline back-to-back set from Seb Fontaine and Tall Paul.

Also appearing on the Friday main stage are Mr Jac, alongside Jason Jay, B2B and Ross Wood, bringing together DJs closely associated with the original Milton Keynes club scene and the wider story behind the event.

Across the site, the Sophisticated Society stage will host ARKO // STU, Ashley Kellett and Lady Roulette, delivering a soundtrack of Ibiza-inspired house music, vocal classics and deeper sunset-to-late-night sounds throughout the evening. As the main event closes, the weekend continues into an official afterparty at Merkur Casino Milton Keynes, featuring an all-female DJ line-up including Eva Cooper, Saya Tina Maria and Sammy Dean.

Organisers say the afterparty is designed to continue the atmosphere long into the night, giving festival-goers a full club experience following the outdoor event. Saturday shifts the focus towards full-scale festival atmosphere, combining chart acts, singalong anthems and crowd-favourite DJs designed to appeal across generations.

Headline acts on the Saturday main stage include Scouting for Girls, Martin Kemp, Charlie Hedges and Chris Gregg, creating a soundtrack built around indie favourites, 80s and 90s nostalgia, dancefloor classics and feel-good festival moments throughout the day and evening.

The Sophisticated Society stage returns on Saturday with Richie Long, Woody, Ashley Kellett and Clarke & Laconi, fresh from recent appearances at Butlins Big Weekender events, along-side additional guest DJs throughout the day.

Saturday night will once again continue at Merkur Casino with an official MKWeekender afterparty featuring Gen33, Justin Bradford, Mark Greig and Pasq Avola, taking the weekend from festival atmosphere into late-night club energy. Sunday closes the weekend with Raver Tots, bringing a family-focused daytime event to Campbell Park with music, entertainment and activities designed for parents and children to experience together.

Known nationally for introducing younger audiences to dance music culture in a safe and inclusive environment, Raver Tots combines DJs, performers, festival production, interactive entertainment and family activities in a daytime festival setting.

Organisers say the addition of Raver Tots helps position MKWeekender as a true multi-generational weekend event, giving families the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a large-scale music festival together. Across the weekend, organisers say the aim is to create a complete outdoor music experience that blends large-scale production with a strong Milton Keynes identity.

Festival-goers can expect multiple stages, VIP and hospitality areas, high-spec sound and lighting production, outdoor bars, premium food traders and entertainment spaces designed to create atmosphere from afternoon through to late evening.

Alongside the headline names, the line-up also brings together original Milton Keynes DJs, emerging artists and local music brands, reflecting the city’s continuing connection to dance music and nightlife culture over the past three decades.

Organisers say the event has been built not only around nationally recognised artists, but also around the people and music communities that helped shape Milton Keynes nightlife over the years. The wider festival site will include premium street food vendors, outdoor seating areas, bars, VIP viewing spaces and additional entertainment designed to create an all-day experience rather than simply a concert environment.

The event has also been designed to encourage visitors to stay within Milton Keynes across the weekend, supporting the city’s hospitality, hotel and nightlife sectors. The event will support Willen Hospice through the Donate2Dance initiative, with a percentage of ticket proceeds helping fund specialist local care services across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.

Organisers describe MKWeekender as more than just a music festival, positioning it as a large-scale homegrown event designed to bring together different generations of music fans through shared experiences, nostalgia and community spirit.
