Employers in Northamptonshire have been urged to discover the opportunities to bolster their workforce by engaging with a new T Level programme set up by Northampton College.
Following the launch of a range of T Level courses last September, the college is keen to work closely with more local businesses to ensure the next generation of students are given meaningful opportunities in the workplace and support employers to build a talent pipeline that is skilled to suit specific business needs.
A tailored Employer Breakfast event will be held in The Lanes restaurant at the college’s Booth Lane campus from 8.30am to 10.30am on Friday, June 28.
The event will include a light breakfast and presentation from Northampton College, outlining how the T Level programme is helping to meet the skills agenda and what the college is aiming to achieve.
It will provide an overview of T Level courses, highlighting what the students will learn, and will explore in detail the T Level pathways available at the college. There will be presentations from employers and students and all those attending will be able to enjoy a tour of the state-of-the-art campus.
A range of new T Level courses are due to start through Northampton College this September, including Level 3 courses in Business and Management, Computing and IT Helpdesk, Construction and the Built Environment, Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, and Health/Adult Nursing.
Liz Nicholson, industry placement co-ordinator at Northampton College, said:
“It’s vital that we keep up to date with the constantly changing world of ‘work’ and how our students can help support our local employers. Events like this are an ideal way of engaging with employers to identify potential skills gaps and find out what they are looking for in new recruits.
“It will be the perfect opportunity for businesses to get a better understanding of our T Level programme and how they can play a part in delivering that, while establishing a ready-to-go talent pipeline for future employees.”
The event will include a Q & A session and will give guidance on how Northampton College is able to work with businesses and students towards their T-Level qualification.
