A Northamptonshire recruitment consultancy has renewed its contract with a global engineering firm following impressive people placement and results.
SSI Schaefer Group, which operates across six continents and has more than 10,000 employees, originally chose Kettering-based Wills Consultants to lead its recruitment processes in 2020.
Since then, Wills Consultants has hired a range of staff for SSI Schaefer across the business including engineering, finance, admin, procurement, legal and IT teams.
The hires include Army veteran Joshua Davis, who went from being a weapons engineer in the military to a deputy engineering manager. Joshua is one of many former military personnel that Wills Consultants have helped to transition to civilian life when leaving the forces.
The 33-year-old’s exceptional experience with the people special- ists, who have recently signed the Armed Forces Covenant, has led to him continuing his work with them long after they found him his per- fect role, now using them to recruit for his own team at SSI Schaefer.
Joshua said:
“Wills Consultants did a lot of preparation with me before my interview – a lot of recruiters don’t do that. They were really supportive, and I work with them now to do my own recruiting.
“We get a lot of really good candidates through them, and they are really good to work with. They get to know a candidate and their skill set. I found with a lot of recruiters they big you up, then you don’t really hear from them again, but Wills have great communi- cation and feedback.”
The Recruitment Process Outsource (RPO) agreement, which sees Wills Consultants manage and enhance the end-to-end sourcing and recruitment strategy for permanent and contract roles across all of the SSI Schaefer Group’s UK sites – including the head office – was so successful that it has recently been extended for another three years.
The recruitment specialist has also undertaken other projects, identifying the most successful practices, and integrating them into the company procedure.
