Cars, dining out and sleeping!

Oh, how we miss those simple pleasures we once took for granted!

No-one has missed this more than Jones architecture + design, for which 2020 was a tough year, working in some of the hardest hit sectors, polarised by the enormous effect the pandemic had on them and their clients, not to mention their customers.

Jones architecture + design work across multiple commercial sectors with a strong track record and particular specialisms in the leisure, hospitality, hotel and car dealerships sectors.

More recently, however, they have seen a resurgence in residential enquiries working with private and developer clients and also looking at how homes can be multi-purposed for home working by looking at POD studios whereby an entire completed structure is lifted into position without having to be actually built on site.

Jones architecture + design have also expected and experienced an upsurge in staycations and that many of their clients are looking to adapt and capitalise by exploring options to repurpose existing buildings and replan their estates to allow for new accommodation and UK-based tourism.

Despite the shortcomings of 2020, Jones architecture + design have been growing financially for over 10 years, retaining a very talented team working on a wide range of exciting projects with values up to £6m.

Wayne Jones, Managing Director said:

“We are extremely proud of how far we have come over the years and we’ve made a name for ourselves particularly in the design and delivery of bars, restaurants, hotels and car dealerships.

“We have an incredible client base, working with the likes of GLH Hotels, Wells & Co, Everards, Red Mist Leisure and McManus Pubs, along with Marshall Motor Group and Cambria Automobiles, to name just a few. Recognition from our clients has led to some interesting referrals but, more importantly, a 100% success rate in repeat work, something of which we are extremely proud.

“The motor industry has been incredibly resilient over the last 12 months and whilst our automotive clients are protecting margins and safeguarding jobs as a prime objective, they have been loyal to us and we are now seeing some movement on several projects with others now back on the radar.”

Abi Perry Jones, Creative Director of Jones architecture + design agrees.

She said:

“Whilst the hospitality sector has been hit extremely hard, many of our clients are optimistic and are making plans for a resurgence in the second half of the year. Work includes refurbishment of internal spaces but with a big focus on expanding and upgrading external areas to provide destinations in which customers can safely dine, drink and relax.

“Some of our larger hotel clients are also reinstating projects and looking to complete spaces such as lobbies and bar/restaurant areas.”

Wayne added:

“We are always happy to meet with prospective clients to discuss how we can realise their vision and we have some great relationships with a raft of project consultants, contractors and suppliers. We can produce wonderful presentations, visuals and animations including VR. And, more importantly, are diverse enough to take on all kinds of projects. Whatever our input, you will always get the warm, clear and professional response we pride ourselves on.”

2021, albeit a slow starter is starting to see a glimmer of positivity, and despite the current lockdown, there has been a marked increase in activity from Jones architecture + design’s clients. Could this gather momentum as the vaccine programme increases, lockdown restrictions ease and springtime arrives? We sincerely hope so!
