Motorcycle revolution gathers speed

Technology that will revolutionise motorcycle efficiency, stability and performance is likely to be unveiled in the next few months after further funding was approved.

White Motorcycle Concepts in Brixworth has, for the past five years, focused on taking efficiency enhancement to a level that will not only increase the performance of mainstream motorcycles, and help support the Government’s climate change targets, but will also be the impetus for British and World land speed record attempts in the next two years.

Owner and CEO Robert White conceived the initial concept while working in F1 and it has been developed with the help of several government grants. The technology is a closely guarded secret until patents are approved, but Robert and his team are looking toward a launch date in April this year. Recently, the business was successful in securing further funding from the Advanced Propulsion Centre.

White Motorcycle Concepts’ innovation has also been supported by a network of world-leading elite motorsport companies with which Robert has worked over his 23-year career.

Robert said:

“We are very excited about what the next few months will bring. The concept improves the aerodynamic performance of a motorcycle, increasing efficiency, stability and performance – to the point where we are looking at land speed record attempts within the next couple of years.

“But, importantly, the technology can also be incorporated in mainstream motorcycles, reducing emissions and improving efficiency, and is recognised as a technology that will help achieve climate change targets. For us, the main focus now is to accelerate the adoption of electric motorcycles. At the moment, they are a small part of the market, but our concept could increase the uptake within the mass market.”
