The success of All Things Business’s annual awards events – the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards and the Northamptonshire Education Awards – has seen the company accredited with the Outstanding standard of the Awards Trust Mark scheme.
While the awards are dedicated to celebrating the best of the county’s business and education sectors, they have now received some recognition of their own, reaching the highest standard of the scheme.
The Awards Trust Mark Scheme was established with the aim of encouraging more award programmes to focus on their own ethics and transparency. The scheme scrutinises everything from criteria, scoring, feedback, transparency and judging.

For the past four years we have endeavoured to celebrate the best this county has to offer – including moving online when forced to by the pandemic – and we have learned more and more over the years until we feel confident that we put on the best-organised awards events in Northamptonshire. To be recognised like this means an awful lot to me and my team.”

Entries will open for the 2022 Awards soon, including two new categories for this year. The Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards 2022 will feature a new Sustainability Project of the Year, which will recognise any projects, innovations or actions that have improved the sustainability of a business for the benefit of the environment as a whole. Meanwhile, there will be an Unsung Hero Award in the Northamptonshire Education Awards 2022, celebrating individuals that make all the difference to the running of a school or college but whose efforts may often seem to go unnoticed.

“We’re always looking to add to the line-up and sustainability is so important to businesses these days. At All Things Business we’ve looked very closely at what we can do to reduce our carbon footprint and want to recognise others who’ve done the same. And the Unsung Hero is going to be very popular, we feel. You only have to hear some of the stories that come out of the education awards entries to see how many people there are giving so much of their time and energy to our schools and the children in them.”
