New name leading the charge in greener motoring

There’s something of a buzz about a new name in electric vehicles and the York Ward & Rowlatt dealership in Wellingborough is seeing significant interest from customers since it introduced the new range.

Leapmotor is an electric-only range that combines intelligent technology, modern styling and zero-emissions performance. Offering a compact city car and a stylish SUV, Leapmotor has a model that will meet most requirements, and each car comes complete with innovative features, smart connectivity and advanced safety systems.

Joining the York, Ward & Rowlatt electric range, which also includes Vauxhall and Peugeot models, Leapmotor is a Chinese brand that is new to the UK. And with a number of fi nance deals available for businesses looking to update or expand their fleet, it is likely to be an attractive option.

Dan Robinson, Franchise Director at York, Ward & Rowlatt, said: “What we are finding with this brand is the price point for what is a full-spec vehicle. We are part of the Stellantis family and they approached us to represent Leapmotor and we feel it’s the way forward.

“People are now thinking more about switching to electric cars, putting in a charger in at home or at their offices so they have their own infrastructure, and businesses are especially keen to switch as they consider their environmental goals and reducing their carbon footprint. Employees are keen too, not only because they want greener transport, but it also means you can have a £40,000 car andpay hardly anything in benefits-in-kind.”

The C10

The Leapmotor C10 offers a range of up to 263 miles and a charging time of 30 minutes from 30% to 80%.

At 218HP it goes from 0 to 62mph in 7.5 seconds and was awarded a Euro NCAP and ANCAP five-star rating thanks to its 12 sensors and advanced driver assistance systems, providing a safer and stress-free driving experience.

The interior is spacious and comfortable with heated seats that have the benefits of leather but are manufactured from responsible and sustainable natural resources.

The C10 comes with a range of standard features including dual zone auto air-conditioning, LED headlights, autonomous emergency braking, driver drowsiness warning alert, rear parking sensors and 360-dgree camera, heated steering wheel and electric foot-activated tailgate.

Its infotainment system includes a 14.6-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch cluster and a 12-speaker surrounding hi-fi system.

The C10 comes in pearlescent Glazed Green as standard, with the option of four alternative finishes.

The T03

The TO3 is a city car that offers up to 165 miles range and, with 95HP, goes from 0 to 62 in 12.7 seconds.

A five-door city car, it has a generous boot volume and best-in-class headroom, while advanced connectivity via an eight-inch cluster and 10-inch touchscreen gives a full technology experience that simplifies the electric driving experience.

The T03 is fitted with power assisted seats, reversing camera and rear parking sensors, as well as adaptive cruise control and automatic air-conditioning. Safety features include blind spot detection, lane departure warning, driver drowsiness and attention warnings, intelligent speed assistance and automatic emergency braking.

Like the C10, the T03 is available in a range of colours, with pearlescent Mint Green as standard, and four alternatives.

York Ward & Rowlatt has expert technicians trained to handle the latest electric and hybrid vehicles, ensuring customers receive the highest level of care throughout the lifetime of their vehicle. Specialist servicing is available on all makes and models using cutting-edge diagnostics and manufacturer-approved procedures.

Dan Robinson said: “Leapmotor is a new name to the UK but we have a knowledgeable sales team who can guide customers through every step of the process. Many people are moving into the world of electric cars for the first time and so it’s all very new and different, but the benefits are clear to see.

“We have some fantastic fi nance deals to offer, particularly for businesses. And, although the Leapmotor vehicles don’t fall within the government’s new electric car grant, Leapmotor have put up the money to cover that, applying an equivalent discount until the end of September for all buyers whether private or fleet hire, so it’s a good time to buy.”
