Northampton Saints Foundation has released its 2023/24 Impact    

More than just statistics, the report demonstrates the profound impact of the Foundation’s programmes across schools, communities, and among those facing significant challenges.  

From supporting young people at risk of exclusion to guiding NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) individuals towards education and employment, the Foundation continues to break down barriers and create lasting change. This latest report offers an insight into the organisation’s journey, celebrates the successes of those it supports, and showcases the collective impact made possible through its work.  

Northampton Saints Foundation remains at the forefront of using rugby’s core values to foster education, employability and social inclusion. The 2023/24 Impact Report reflects its continued growth, key achievements, and the tangible difference being made across the community.  

Education programmes: expanding opportunities  

47 programmes delivered to support young people in education  

Nine care settings engaged, fostering well-being through physical and cognitive activities  

970 students took part in the Champion Programmes, promoting health, character, and numeracy  

710 young people benefited from the Sensory Boost programme, which enhances cognitive and emotional development.  

Social inclusion: transforming lives  

The Engage Programme supported 238 young people across 97 schools, helping to prevent disengagement from education  

92% of participants achieved a positive progression  

More than 5,900 sessions delivered across six hubs in Northampton- shire, Milton Keynes and Ipswich.  

Employability and training: building futures  

  • The HITZ Programme, now in its 15th year, continues to develop confidence, life skills, and employability among 16 to 19-year-olds  
  • A 100% pass rate was achieved in the Functional Skills Programme
  • The Aspire Programme, in partnership with Northampton College, saw 44% of participants transition into education, training or employment 
     
  • The Engage+ Programme offers Level 1 Employability Certificates and valuable work experience opportunities.  

Mental health and wellbeing: supporting young people  

  • 15 direct referrals for young people from the Engage and 16+ programmes  
  • 169 formal counselling sessions, including one-on-one support, parent meetings, and multi-agency collaboration  
  • A major focus on emotional regulation, anxiety, self-harm and trauma support  
  • Over 295 hours dedicated to safeguarding and mentoring vulnerable youth.  

Fundraising and corporate support: strengthening the mission  

  • £62,279 raised through grants, corporate donations and events
  • Foundation Day (£60.644.25) 
  • Charity golf day (£10,250) 
  • Grinch pantomime (£8,431.52)  
  • London Marathon run (£1,180.57)
  • Courtney Lawes raffle (£5,050)

With ongoing expansion into new hubs and increasing participation in its programmes, Northampton Saints Foundation continues to make a lasting difference in young people’s lives.
