Episode 27 | What’s Coming Up?

The dream team of Ben and Frazer return to look forward to the rest of 2023. January seems to have gone quickly, but it’s been an unusually busy one. Ben ascribes this to businesses finally losing their post-pandemic inhibitions and becoming willing to market more heavily.

The two discuss the construction industry focus of the March issue. This leads into a discussion on businesses making aesthetic upgrades to their offices as part of an effort to draw both new talent and existing employees to the office, rather than working from home. Both emphasise the importance of in-person collaboration in creative businesses.

Upcoming ATB Projects

Moving on to other ATB projects, they announce the judges of the Milton Keynes Education Awards: Nicholas Mann, Jason Sinclair and the current mayor Amanda Marlow. easiPC will be the headline sponsor, while Eamonn Holmes is due to host. Other projects include the return of the Business Excellence and Education Awards to the County Ground, a Rugby World Cup event, and a tease of future guests for the podcast.

The episode rounds out with some banter around Frazer’s golf handicap (16 on a good day) and Ben’s connection to the new King. He got his start in business with a loan from the Prince’s Trust and met the then Prince Charles in 2001, receiving Christmas cards from him ever since. The King is due to visit Milton Keynes to ratify the new city status and Ben, ever one to shoot for the moon, has written to the King in the hope of getting a few minutes of his time.

The dynamic duo finish up by recounting an anecdote of Ben accidentally ringing Jeremy Clarkson, asking businesses for feedback on ATB’s recent design refresh and sharing their goal of taking the podcast on the road in 2023.
