Episode 38 | Something A Little Bit Different

Connor Slasberg, Service Solutions Specialist at Bechtle UK, joins Ben and Frazer for this unusual edition of All Things Business – The Podcast. But it’s not his sales expertise that he’s been called in for, he’s here to do something a bit special.

But first, some background. Connor currently works at Bechtle UK, and was called out to complete a half-marathon with Ben and Frazer in support of Harry’s Rainbow, but has a medical condition which prevents him from running long distances.

However, Bechtle recently acquired ACS Staffing Solutions, so Connor and two friends are going to do a charity walk from ACS’s office in Northampton to Bechtle’s office in Chippenham. They’re calling it ‘The Great Commute’ and will be completing the 130-mile walk for three charities: The Haemophilia Society, Oddballs, and the Ruth Strauss Foundation.

Mr & Mr!

After Connor drops some impressions ranging from questionable (Billy Connolly) to impressive (Brendan Rogers), it’s time for a new segment: Mr & Mr! Connor becomes the host (with a sparkly gold jacket) and Ben and Frazer are pitted against each other to see who knows the other the best.

The first round has Ben answering questions about Frazer. He scores a quick point by getting Frazer’s favourite beer correct but drops the last two questions on which celebrity Frazer thinks he looks like and what Frazer thinks his worst workplace trait is.

The second round sees the roles reversed, and Frazer drops points on Ben’s death row meal and his ideal holiday destination but brings the scores level by guessing Ben’s worst workplace habit: being glued to his phone.

The final round has both Ben and Frazer guess which of them best matches Connor’s prompts, and they both get a point if they match. Things like ‘Who’s the better driver?’ (Frazer) or ‘Who would win an impromptu dance off at Popworld?’ (Ben). No spoilers for who wins, but expect heated debate on topics as varied as music, time keeping and buffet etiquette.
