Special guest Kelly Smith, MBE inspires schools with SH Pratt Group

Salahuddin Babar has a treat lined up for his school friends next year after his artistic talents won a visit from a special guest.

Along with more than 120 others, Salahuddin entered a competition run by Luton based SH Pratt, Britain’s biggest family-owned banana company. On National Banana Day on April 15, children from local schools were asked to design a billboard showing why bananas are good for you. Salahuddin, from Challney High School for Boys, has been named the winner and has won a school workshop and assembly with special guest, England football legend Kelly Smith, MBE.

Robert Wells, CEO said

“My colleagues and I were blown away by not just the number of entries, but the quality. It was great to see so many local pupils participate, and show their creative skills on the many benefits of bananas.”

Kelly Smith added:

“What a great initiative. I do a lot of work with schools across the country, so to see what SH Pratt have done is really encouraging and I’m proud to play a part and look forward to seeing Salahuddin and his schoolmates in the new year.”
