The popular Christmas Tree Recycling Service, run by Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity, has launched for the third consecutive year this festive season.
The initiative offers a hassle-free way for Northamptonshire households to dispose of their real Christmas tree, while supporting vital local palliative care.
Residents in eligible postcodes – NN1, NN2, NN3, NN4, NN5, NN6, NN7, NN11, NN12 and NN13 – can embrace a greener Christmas by signing up for the service before midnight on 7th January 2026.
Trees can be left outside each registered property ready for corporate volunteers from local businesses to provide a collection service across Northampton and the surrounding Northamptonshire villages between Saturday 10th and Tuesday 13th January 2026.
Trees over six feet tall need to be chopped down into smaller pieces for transportation. Once collected, the trees are transported to various recycling sites.
In lieu of a collection fee, the charity, which is renowned for providing excellent specialist palliative care services across West Northamptonshire, suggests a donation to support its critical services.
£10 could contribute towards transport for a patient attending a wellbeing session, £15 could pay for one hour of nursing in the inpatient unit, or £20 could provide a session of support, information and comfort for a bereaved child.
Nina Gandy, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser Lead at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative: “This convenient collection services gives you one less thing to think about this Christmas. No need to worry about how to dispose of your tree, we will do it for you!
“Not only will you be helping the environment, but you will also be helping our incredible charity and giving back to the community we serve.”
