When we opened Thomas Connolly Estate Agents, we knew that we had to stand out from the rest – now, eight years on, we know we have achieved that goal, and that’s not just us saying that, we have the figures to prove it.
Setting up in The Hub in Milton Keynes back in 2015 we began our journey to what Thomas Connolly is today, a busy, full-service estate agency. We help people buy and sell their homes, and we have a specialist land, development and new homes team that knows this area inside out and can provide a unique insight into what is possible in and around Milton Keynes in terms of land available for development and new homes schemes that are being planned or nearing completion.
Milton Keynes is one of the UK’s most desirable hot spots for international property investors and so we’ve built an Overseas team to advise vendors and foreign buyers looking to invest in the UK.
But where I’m most proud of what we have achieved is when I look at the statistics for our lettings department. When we started, we knew the only way forward, in what is, let’s face it, a crowded market, was to be the best. And not just to say we’re the best, but to invest in people and training and building expertise in a way that left people in no doubt that when it comes to lettings, we’re the safest pair of hands in the region.
Look at Right Move now and it’s clear that we’re unbeaten in terms of local letting agents. Right Move is the biggest property site there is, every agent is on there, and you can find statistics about every one of them. It’s an independent set of figures that we can use to show our clients how far ahead of everyone else we are.
The reason for that is we take it seriously. When we were putting our team together, we deliberately went out and headhunted people we knew were talented, credible individuals that together would put us in a strong position in the market. After that, we invested heavily in bespoke software and ongoing training, leaving no stone unturned in our aim to be the best lettings agency in the region.
What that approach has given us is a vast amount of expertise and in-depth local knowledge, allowing us to provide landlords with the most accurate and achievable rent appraisals and informed advice on how to maximise their investments.
Landlords don’t want empty properties, so keeping those properties occupied at all times to deliver a continuous income is always top of our agenda. Whether that’s finding new tenants for empty properties or working hard to manage and maintain tenants’ homes so that they are happy to stay there longer, we make it our business to deliver a service that provides effective results regardless of how big or small a landlord’s portfolio might be.
