Unique and poignant way to show you remember

Cransley Hospice Trust is offering a unique and poignant in-memory installation, ‘We Remember;’ an emotive display of beautiful oak pillars featuring special plaques dedicated to loved ones at two stunning locations, East Carlton Countryside Park near Corby and the Chester House Estate near Wellingborough.

The charity is inviting supporters and members of the community to honour their loved ones by leaving their name or a cherished memory of them on one of these powerful memorials, by purchasing a We Remember plaque.

It can be hard to find somewhere that we can go to connect and remember the memories we shared with our loved ones, particularly if they don’t have a traditional grave or a favourite place where family or friends can visit to reminisce.

We Remember provides a special place to gather, to reflect together while enjoying a picnic or a walk in glorious surroundings. The loved one does not have to have received care from Cransley Hospice to be included on this memorial.

There are four different options available; small or large plaques, and for a time period of one or three years; and an option to select whether the plaque will be included on the installation at East Carlton Countryside Park or at the Chester House Estate.

Purchasing a plaque will also help to fund the development of local hospice care and services in North Northamptonshire … because every moment matters.

The installations have been designed and manufactured by local company Timotay Playscapes who have worked with the Cransley Hospice Trust team to bring the vision to life. It is hoped that these unique and beautiful pieces will bring joy and peace to those who support the Trust, and to local park users, as they blend with and enhance the local landscape.

Each installation will have a special unveiling ceremony, on Saturday April 26 at East Carlton Countryside Park and Sunday May 18 at Chester House Estate. These services will feature music, readings and the sharing of memories, giving the hospice community a chance to come together and support each other as they remember loved ones. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Louise Gurney, Data & Individual Giving Manager at Cransley Hospice Trust said: “We are incredibly excited to be able to offer this unique in-memory opportunity for people to have a physical place to reminisce about their loved ones. We Remember is such an uplifting and heartfelt way to honour someone missing from your life – and all while supporting local hospice and end of life care in our community.

“We are incredibly grateful to the teams at East Carlton Countryside Park and the Chester House Estate for sharing our vision and enthusiasm for these beautiful memorial pieces. We hope that they will bring a lot of comfort to local people.”

Plaques are on sale now. Cransley Hospice Trust is encouraging people to order their plaques promptly, as numbers are limited by the space available on the installations. Orders for the initial dedication plaques are now closed but as the installations are permanent features, anyone who missed the original deadline is still encouraged to purchase a plaque, whether to mark a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary, or ‘just because’. Plaques will be added to the memorial every three months by a skilled team of kind volunteers.

Small plaques are sized 85 x 40mm and large plaques are sized 180 x 40mm and both can hold up to four lines of text. Whether it’s a favourite quote, or song lyric – or a more traditional choice of names and dates – plaques can be personalised in any way the purchaser chooses to remember someone special.

Plaques are priced from just £60 for a small, one year option. £60 pays for a home visit by a Cransley Nurse Specialist, which gives a patient in need the opportunity to be cared for in the comfort of their own home at the end of their life.
